Explore all the ways you can become a champion of Lakota.
GET ACTIVE
Are you interested in contributing your time to the cause? Being a language activist is a serious commitment - especially if you decide to learn and teach Lakota. But it’s worth it. Take the time to learn Lakota and pass your knowledge on by raising your children in the language. Teach a course. Volunteer at an LLC program or school in your community.
In addition, you can also work to raise awareness of the revitalization efforts by the Lakota Language Consortium and its allies by petitioning, creating or attending awareness events, or writing to your Senator or member of Congress. You can also: give your time as a volunteer, become a fundraiser, work with new technologies to expand LLC's presence in the media and on the internet, or lend a hand in our home office in Bloomington, Indiana.
