LLC INTERNSHIP
Open Position
Lakota Language Consortium is currently seeking an intern for our Development Office. The Development Intern will work directly with the Project Coordinator to help secure the resources needed to meet future language challenges.
A major focus will be maintaining databases for donors and events as well as helping with special mailings and events planning.
Duties
The Development Intern's duties relating to the film, events and other LLC priorities include:
* Assisting with donor outreach through emails, mailings, and phone calls * Contacting individuals about participation in LLC events * Assisting with all aspects of donor recognition and record keeping
LLC integrates interns into day-to-day operations of the Consortium and encourages intern attendance at events and meetings on a variety of topics, including the renownedLakota Summer Institute.
Qualifications
This 20 hour per week position is available from August 20 through December 16, and we are looking for someone who could continue interning 10 hours per week thru December.
Candidates should possess strong writing and interpersonal communication skills as well as a desire to learn about the nonprofit sector and the linguistic field. A strong academic background is required, but specific linguistic or development experience is not necessary. Applicants must have completed freshman year of college.
Compensation is not available but a small transportation stipend is provided.
