Tools for Teachers

The Lakota Language Consortium’s programs and materials are crucial tools for preserving and growing the Lakota language community. Still, they would be useless without the true soldiers in the movement – dedicated Lakota language teachers.

Many of these teachers participate as consultants and reviewers in the creation of LLC’s classroom materials, professional development trainings, and the curriculum and standards for K-16 programs in Lakota language. This involvement is what makes LLC a grassroots Lakota-led organization, and its products closely reflective of both modern and traditional Lakota culture.
